The morning after

"If you want to make an enemy of a teenage girl (and perhaps, her mother) say something bad about Stephanie Meyer's Twilight saga ......"

That was a quote from an article I read this morning about the movie that kept me out until 3:15 a.m. this morning. Keeping that in mind, here are my thoughts about last night's entertainment.

I adored Charlie Swan and his friend Billy. Jacob wasn't at all what I was hoping for but that is for the next movie.

It took fifteen minutes before I could figure out what real-life person Bella reminded me of. I enjoyed her character far better in the movie than the book.

The Hoh Rainforest is beautiful and some of the footage looked like it was shot there.

I did get a kick out of the total silence in the theater. You could have heard a pin drop for for most of the two hours except for the collective heavy breathing when the first kiss took place.

It was fun evening. Thanks ladies! I am tired.

Are you kidding? I HATED that movie. I don't care how many Twilighters I piss off right now. Seriously, worst movie I've seen this year. I want my money back. In the theaters here, everyone was laughing and people were horrified by the slaughtering of a decent book.
I sincerely hope that there isn't a second movie, and if there is, they pull a Hulk and redo everything. New actors, new director, new Twilight.
Sorry, I'm bitter. I wasted a perfectly good Grey's Night and hard earned cash on that disaster.
Blah!

K, read my comment again, keeping in mind that I live amidst huge fans of this series. I chose my words carefully.

You really should learn how to express your true feelings instead of keeping them bottled up. That could cause ulcers! I loved your comment! Thanks!

K: So sad that you didn't like it.

I thought it was great. Not perfect, and definitely some of the dialogue from the book did not translate well to the big screen. But all-in-all, it was a fun movie to watch.

Not enough dismemberment for my taste but I would pay to see it again.

My friend went and saw it and HATED it. I told her that my expectations for the movie are not that high because the book is always better that the movie.

Can't wait to see it on Sunday.

ps- I will be wearing my TEAM EDWARD shirt while watching it.

Just saw it. Very much enjoyed it. Matt can't stop talking about gothic characteristics and this stayed true to for him and he appreciated it.

I haven't seen the movie or read the books, but I'm sure you are right about the Hoh rain forest, the school was set in Fork, just north of the forest. The school they used for the exteriors was the one here in Kalama. It was quite a PITA for those of us trying to get up and down the hill on business. Sharyn
