Payday!

Yesterday was payday!

Total weight of coins: 28 pounds
Paper money: twenty three dollars
Gold dollars: eight
Collection time: Seven months, 13 days

Grand Total: $202.13
(This includes $8.81 that the bank rejected.
That will buy Zeus' morning cup of coffee for a while.)

What beautiful money, my ventral striatum is salivating just looking at those bills and coins. have a good time in San Francisco. Don't spend all your loot at Ghirardelli or Rocky Mountain.

What makes it payday? Lunar eclipse? Birthday? Random October day?

Payday is when all three jars are filled to the brim and I can't shove even one more traxified penny in there. Or when the bag is going to be so heavy that I can't lift it.

why did the bank reject the other money? foreign or something?

Becky, many of the rejected coins have been plucked out of streets and are sometimes quite mulitated (I refer to them as traxified). They won't go through the coin-sorting machine. The bank will throw them away unless I ask for them to be returned. They are still usable, especially for Zeus' morning coffee from McD's.

Foreign coins and older coins (wheaties) are separated before making it into the jars.

Thank you for the explainations! So they would not even have handcounted it? I guess as long as McD's takes it its good enough! We save all our coins too...trying to save for a big screen tv i think this time. LAst time the change took us to Yellowstone park for a week. It too 2 years for that amount of saving, and its been about a year since then so the TV is still a long way off.
