If you are reading this...

I'm challenging you.

Just how much of a wo/man are you? Tough? Determined? Dedicated?

Put on some good sturdy shoes and do a 5k with me. I don't care if you run, walk or crawl over the finish line, just come and do it with me.

I can hear some of you whining already. I know what you are saying. I've said it all in the past. Races are very low on my list of favorite ways to spend a Saturday morning but doing one for a good charitable cause will make it a bit easier. So will having friends and family by my side. Yes, that is YOU!

The Susan B Komen Race for a Cure is going to be held the first part of May, 2010 in SLC. That is a full 6 1/2 months away, plenty of time to get your heads wrapped around the idea of it. This is not a timed race so don't tell me you are too slow, too old, too fat, too anything.

Every single one of us has a loved one who has fought the battle, some winning and some losing.

Do this with me in their honor.

Okay, who's in? I want replies. POSITIVE replies. Show me what you are made of.

Yippee! Way to get the ball rolling Duchess! Come on you guys, we need more breasts bouncing across that finish line!

IN! And I am going to say Casi is in as well. She'll forgive me eventually.

Funny, I was gonna say I was in.
Now...where can I get some good running shoes????

I am too male.

Loki, very wrong. You have breasts. They are certainly not as entertaining or utiltarian as your wife's are currently but still, you have them. And men get breast cancer, too.

I realize that this might not be the right time for her to commit to a race but.... I'm waiting....

At least you can offer to tend the herd while she comes with us!

Casi, I just about sent you to my running shoe supplier... duh...

OK, if Duchess can say she's in, I guess I don't have any excuse. Me and my utilitarian breasts will be there. Although, Matt really does want in as well, so we'll make other arrangements for our "herd".

Hooray for new mommies!

Hmmm... Matt may just have put the pressure on some other daddies. You know, strollers might be allowed...

Hey Numi, my mom and I are both in! Thanks for setting up such a great goal. (and thanks Duchess for planting the seed in the back of my head a couple of months back) Hooray for an excuse to buy more shoes!

Fabulous, boo! There are still a few of you out there... I know you're there.... I'm waiting....

Count me in too! There is also the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 4-mile walk in SLC this October 10th if anybody is interested in a warm-up :)

Oh yeahhhhh!!! Athena has made me smile today! Now, where is FN and Jubee?

Hey JW, you gotta quit changing your handle every other day. I never know who you are! The October walk sounds interesting but can't swing that one.

Athena, the enthusiasm you expressed in your post was overwhelming.
